FAQ

Q.
Why do I need water and how much water should I drink per day?
A.

Think of water as an essential nutrient that your body needs. Drinking water replaces the water that our bodies lose daily and benefits the body in many ways. Water is critical in regulating all body organs and temperature, dissolving solids, and moving nutrients throughout the body. Since water is naturally low in sodium; contains no fat, cholesterol, or caffeine; and is not flushed straight through the body like many other beverages. Water is the natural solution to help reach your body’s daily fluid quota, which is about 8 glasses or 2 liters.

Q.
Who regulates packaged drinking water?
A.

In India, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is responsible for packaged drinking water regulations. BIS has published two Indian Standards for Packaged Drinking Water (IS
13428 for packaged natural mineral water and IS 14543 for packaged drinking water). Both the products are under mandatory certification. Packaged water companies are required to perform routine quality tests to ensure the finished product meets BIS standards for water quality and safety

Q.
What are the different types of packaged drinking water?
A.

For a product to be considered “packaged water”, it must NOT contain sweeteners or chemical additives (other than minerals, flavors, extracts or essences) and must be sugar-free and calorie-free.

The BIS defines two types of water as follows:

  • Packaged Natural Mineral Water: Contains no less than 250 parts per million of total dissolved solids (minerals). No minerals can be added to this product.
  • Packaged Drinking Water: Packaged water is originally sourced from a well that taps a confined aquifer (a water-bearing underground layer of rock or sand). Such water if labeled as “purified” may be subjected to treatments such as, multistep filtrations, e.g., through sand, gravels, carbon, softener, micron filters, membranes, followed by disinfection, aeration, re-mineralization or any other method to meet the prescribed standard before being packed.
Q.
What makes PureLyf water different from other brands?
A.

The mineral content in Purelyf is maintained at a level so that water does not lose its natural properties and taste even after multistage filtration carried out to ensure elimination of any contamination with harmful element including pathogen.

Q.
Is water purified by reverse osmosis (RO) suitable for health?
A.

Yes, water filtration using reverse osmosis (RO) membrane alone can produce water having almost zero TDS (Total Dissolved Solid). However, RO membrane filtration process can be adjusted to achieve desired water quality. NWB adds minerals to make sure that Purelyf does not miss the essential minerals.

Q.
How do you ensure the quality of your bottled water at NWB?
A.

Our regular and alkaline water source originates well below the earth’s surface in a protected aquifer. Processes such as filtration and ozonation help us ensure that what you get in your bottle of PureLyf water products is contamination free and has consistent mineral content close to natural spring source. Regular water analysis in our in-house laboratory ensures quality of bottled water.

Q.
What types of minerals does PureLyf water contain?
A.

Purelyf packaged drinking water contains sodium, magnesium, potassium which are essential minerals.

Q.
What is pH and what is the pH of PureLyf and PureLyf+8.5?
A.

Drinking and natural water can range in pH due to dissolved minerals and gases.  Solutions with a pH of less than 7 are said to be “acidic” and those higher than 7, “alkaline”. Pure or purified water has a pH at around 7.2. PureLyf’s pH is kept at 7.2 to be neutral. The PureLyf +8.5 has a pH slightly above 8.5, is therefore, alkaline, and has added health benefits.

Q.
How is alkaline water beneficial for health?
A.

Our bodies absorb alkaline water easily. Mineralized alkaline water contains powerful antioxidants, which boost your immune system. Alkaline water helps in detoxification, maintains our body’s pH balance and can help you in losing weight. For more information, please see our products page.

A.

A.

PET stands for polyethylene terephthalate, a plastic resin and a form of polyester. It is the type of recyclable plastic labeled with the #1 recycling code on or near the bottom of bottles and containers and is commonly used to package soft drinks, water and juice.

NWB is dedicated to using environmentally responsible bottled water containers for its entire product line. Our 20L jars are cleaned, sanitized and refilled up to maximum of 50 times. We encourage recycling of our big jars and all of our water bottles at the end of their life-cycle. The recycled plastic can be used to make other products. Q.
Is it safe to consume water packaged in PET plastic?
A.
